BAGHDAD, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Three U.S. soldiers were killed in a vehicle accident in central Iraq on Wednesday, the U.S. military said in a statement.

    The statement did not provide further details about the incident, but said that names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

    About 4,216 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
