BEIRUT, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese pro-Syrian Shiite Hezbollah group said Friday that they are proud by the "courage and honesty "of Christian opposition Leader Michel Aoun's visit to Syria, localal-Manar TV reported.

Hezbollah's Parliamentary block said in a statement after their weekly meeting that Aoun has a clear approach to the relations with Syria regardless of the past mistakes, the Hezbollah owned TV said.

"He has a view to build the future," the statement added.

Aoun arrived in Syria Tuesday on a "historic trip," which occupied local and international media, and raised criticism by pro-government Leaders.

Aoun's historic animosity with Syria ended after Syrian troops pulled out of Lebanon in 2005, the two had been engaged in "war of liberation" launched by Aoun during the time he headed the intern government in 1988-1990.

A Syrian military operation in Oct 1990 ousted Aoun, forcing him into a 15-year exile in France.

Hezbollah, the main Syrian ally in Lebanon, was backed politely by Aoun, a Christian leader, during the party's war with Israel in2006, and have been allies since they reached an agreement of understanding in 2006.
