BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese top official Zhou Yongkang on Monday calls for the country's legal experts to voice suggestions to well safeguard the country's economic security.

    Legal experts should also voice insightful views to ensure smooth transformation of the country's economic growth mode and do more research work to guarantee social fairness and justice, said Zhou, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee.

    He asked the experts to focus their research on finance, intellectual property, environmental protection and areas concerning improvement of people's livelihood.

    Legal experts should also build stronger ties with the people and offer legal assistance to them, Zhou said at a national awarding ceremony of outstanding legal experts.
