The coalition forces targeted Haji Yakub in Qarabagh district, who was responsible for killing innocent civilians by directing roadside bomb, suicide and other attacks against Afghan and international troops in the region, the statement said.
"Intelligence also suggests Yakub facilitated the movements of foreign fighter, weapons and bomb making materials into Ghazni," it added.
During the operation in the rebels' hideout, Coalition engaged armed men killing four including Haji Yakub who was found dressed as a woman.
"A search of the compound revealed multiple AK-47 assault rifles and other military equipment," the statement said.
