MOSCOW, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Russia on Friday
successfully test fired a Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile from a
submarine, local media reported.
The Bulava missile was launched by the
nuclear-powered submarine Dmitry Donskoi from a submerged position in the White
Sea, Russian navy spokesman Igor Dygalo was quoted by Interfax news agency as
saying.
It successfully hit the designated target on the
Kamchatka Peninsula, the spokesman added.
The Bulava, which can carry up to 10 nuclear warheads
and has a range of 8,000 km, is designed to be launched from Russia's newest
Borei class of submarines.
