HARBIN, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- A man burnt and killed himself in an arcade center in the northeastern Heilongjiang province on Friday, said local police.
The man was named Hua Guoyou, 29, who sold lamb barbecue at a street stall. He went to the arcade center in the Xiangfang district at about 2:30 p.m., poured gasoline on himself, claimed that he lost money there and threatened to commit suicide.
A staff called the boss immediately before asking to talking with Hua. Then the man lit himself.
Five others were in the center when the incident happened. They all escaped with no casualties, said Li Yuefang, a police with the Xiangfang police station.
It took firefighters about 40 minutes to put out the fire.
The arcade center was closed by police for gambling and running without licenses in July, but it re-opened several days ago, Li said.
Hua's body has been sent for autopsy while police had the boss of the center in detention.
Police will punish the boss and tighten supervision and management over entertainment venues, Li said.
