JAKARTA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, which has claimed over 140 lives and left 300 people wounded, a presidential spokesman said here Friday.
In a press statement, Presidential Spokesman Dino Pati Djalal said that Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had conveyed his deep condolences to the victims and their families and the Indian government,
The president also hoped those responsible for the attacks could be immediately seized and brought to justice.
The Indonesian government viewed the attacks as proof that terrorism was a real threat and could happen anywhere and affect anyone, Djalal said.
Therefore, he said, Indonesia supported all kinds of cooperation to prevent and fight terrorism.
The Indonesian government had officially conveyed its stance on the terrorist attacks in India through its foreign ministry spokesman on Thursday.
