ISLAMABAD, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani have strongly condemned the blast in Bannu in which some policemen lost their lives.
In his message, Zardari said that the government was determined to deal with the scourge of terrorism and extremism with an iron hand. Gilani said that those carrying out acts of terrorism would never escape the law.
The two leaders praised the courage of the policemen and said the valiant personnel laid down their lives in the line of duty. They also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and have directed the authorities to provide them best medical care.
At least four people were killed Friday as a suicide bomber attacked a police mobile van in Bannu, a town in Pakistan's northwest, according to local TV reports.
The private Dawn TV quoted police sources as saying that ten others were injured in the attack and most of the casualties were policemen.
The Geo TV said that up to seven people were killed in the incident when the attacker rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a police car patrolling the town's streets.
