HANOI, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- As many as 15 international flights between
Hanoi, Vietnam and Bangkok, Thailand were canceled on Wednesday due to Thai
protesters blocking Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Vietnam News reported on
Thursday.
More than 700 passengers were stranded after already checking in at Noi Bai
International Airport of Vietnam and another 130 at Tan Son Nhat International
Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, about 500 Vietnamese passengers were
also delayed at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand.
Passengers who booked tickets on the canceled flights can give back tickets
to Vietnam Airlines in exchange of receiving a full refund without extra charge,
said Thanh.
Flights bound for Bangkok on Thursday have no fixed schedule and have to
wait further developments from the Thai capital, said Vietnam Airlines spokesman
Trinh Ngoc Thanh.
Flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok by Thai Airways and Air
Asia were also reportedly canceled.
Vietnam Airlines has set up a hotline at (04) 38320320 for passengers
