JERUSALEM, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Israel allowed 70 tons of cooking gas to enter into Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to army sources.

Ten trucks of aid and basic supplies were also transferred to Gaza, the source told Xinhua.

The cooking gas is only a fraction of what Gazans need, Palestinian fuel official Mahmoud Khazundar was quoted by the website of Jerusalem Post as saying.

On Tuesday, Israel closed its cargo crossings into Gaza due to Palestinian rocket fire at Israel, just a day after allowing vital humanitarian supplies in.

The number of rockets that fired into Israeli territory declined sharply since a truce took effect between Israel and Hamas in June.

In response to the violations of the ceasefire terms, Israeli Defense Ministry ordered to close down the border crossings to Gaza on several occasions.
