    AMMAN, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Jordan sent humanitarian supplies to Gaza Strip on Wednesday, the second aid convoy in a week, according to Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

    The assistant of Secretary General of JHCO Rajab Zubaydah said the convoy consists of 10 trucks loaded with various food supplies and humanitarian aids.

    The convoy is expected to arrive Wednesday in the Gaza Strip and to be distributed in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent, United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Palestinian National Authority, according to the official.

    "JHCO will continue to send aid convoys in the coming weeks to our brothers in Palestine especially in the Gaza Strip to alleviate their suffering caused by acute shortages of food and medical supplies due to the unjust Israeli siege", he added.

    For his part, first secretary of the Palestinian embassy in Amman, Bassam Hijjawi expressed his appreciation for Jordan for the support to the Palestinians at all times.

    The charity group on Monday sent a 10-truck convoy laden with medicine and food to the Gaza Strip.

    Israel continued a lockdown of the coastal Gaza Strip, keeping cargo crossings, a main passageway for fuel and humanitarian aid, shut in response to rocket and mortar fire at Israeli border towns.
