BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Argentine soccer club Estudiantes de La Plata and Brazilian club Internacional de Porto Alegre (Inter) will play on Wednesday the first leg of the South American Cup final
Estudiantes, which is three times champion of the Libertadores Cup (1966, 1967 and 1968) eliminated Independiente, Arsenal, Botafogo de Brasil and Argentinos Juniors to reach the final.
Estudiantes currently is seventh with 24 points, eight points far from the leader, Boca Juniors in their domestic league.
Meanwhile, Inter is world champion of clubs in 2006, and it eliminated Gremio de Porto Alegre, Universidad Catolica de Chile, Boca Juniors and Chivas de Guadalajara.
On Sunday, Inter lost to Fluminense 2-0 at the Brazilian Championship, but the coach Tite had preserved the first-choice players for the match against Estudiantes. It stood eighth on 20 points far from Sao Paulo club.
Estudiantes is coached by Leonardo Astrada and the star player is Juan Sebastian Verna, while from Inter stands out Andres D'Alessandro, Alez and Nilmar.The South American Cup final second leg will be played in Dec. 6 at "Beira Rio" stadium of Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The match will be at 22:00hrs local time (0000 GMT) at "Ciudad de La Plata" stadium, where the hosts has 47 matches without losing and the referee will be Paraguayan Carlos Amarilla.
