TOKYO, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A ranking general of Japan's Air Self-Defense
Force (ASDF) involved in a sexual harassment case was suspended from work for
three days as a disciplinary caution on Tuesday, local media reported.
Kesayoshi Miyashita, 55, has offered to quit the service, the Defense
Ministry said.
Miyashita was head of the ASDF's 1st Technical School in Hamamatsu,
Shizuoka Prefecture, when he allegedly engaged in "physical contact" with a
female deputy in late August during a "recreational activity," the ministry
said. He has admitted to the allegation, Kyodo News Agency reported.
The ministry has declined to say what the recreational activity was, citing
privacy concerns.
Miyashita was removed from the post of the school's principal on Sept. 18.
The case emerged amid a controversy over sacked ASDF Chief of Staff Gen.
Toshio Tamogami, who wrote an essay justifying Japan's wartime
aggression.
