Nepali students union announces struggle program

    KATHMANDU, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Eight student's union announced to initiate struggle programs against Nepali government from Tuesday for ignoring their demands and ultimatum.

    According to eKantipur.com report, the irate students halted transportation in front of colleges of the capital Kathmandu Valley from Tuesday morning for half an hour as per their slated program.

    Earlier, the eight student's union had submitted a memorandum to the government to decrease the price of petroleum products in a scientific way and imposing dual price for the industries and general people.

    They had also demanded management of ration card for the students and the common people and to rationalize the fares of the transportation in a systematic way.

    They had given a week of ultimatum to fulfill their demands.

    Meanwhile, they have also announced to picket the Nepal Oil Corporation and to stage a sit-in outside the office of the Prime Minister.

    It is very much unlawful that the transport fares have been dropped by only 6 percent when the international price of the petroleum products has decreased by almost 50 percent, said the protesting students.

    Meanwhile, the union is due to hold a meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss about the public statements given by the leaders of All Nepal National Independent Students Union Revolutionary.
