¡¡MAR DEL PLATA, Argentina, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Argentine Alberto Mancini said on Monday that he will not play as the Davis Cup team captain following their loss to Spain 3-1 in the final.
He said before the final that he would quit as captain whatever the result is.
During Mancini's spell at the helm, which began in June 2004, Argentina reached the final twice and the semi-finals once.
"It's the end of a cycle, and one during which we got to the final twice and the semi-finals once. I'm satisfied with what I've been able to do," he told reporters a day after the final here.
Argentina also reached the final in 2006, when they lost to Russia.
