LIMA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Lee
Myung-bak on Saturday pledged to enhance trade and economic cooperation with
Peru and Latin America.
"I am sure that Peru, Latin America and (South) Korea
may become strong business partners to reach co-prosperity of the 21th century
and the (South) Korean government will spare no effort to accelerate this
cooperation," Lee said in a speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) CEO Summit in the morning.
The president said his government is considering the
establishment of a South Korea-Latin America fund and a South Korea-Latin
America cooperation center, which will help enhance the relationship between
South Korean and Latin American companies.
"I have reflected on my experiences as CEO for 30
years, and I am sure that cooperation between our companies can create immense
opportunities," he said.
Lee said Latin America has maintained a steady growth
in recent years and enjoys enormous economic potential.
"Now it is time to talk about the miracle of Latin
America," he said. Lee arrived in Lima on Thursday for an official visit to the
South American country and the APEC economic leaders' meeting that began
