¡¡KABUL, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Two separate suicide blasts against international troops occurred in Afghanistan Sunday morning, killing one civilian and wounded 14 others including three foreign troops, officials said.

Mawlana Sayed Khil, provincial police chief of Baghlan in northern Afghanistan, told Xinhua that one blast occurred at around 11:00 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) when one suicide attacker driving a car laden with explosive material blew it off near a convoy of international troops patrolling in the region.

"As a result, one civilian was killed and 12 others were injured by the blast including one foreign soldier," Khil said.

In the other incident, two service member with the U.S.-led Coalition forces were wounded when their convoy was attacked by a suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) early Sunday morning in western Afghan province of Herat, said a Coalition statement issued here on Sunday.

"Coalition service members were wounded in western Afghanistan and have been evacuated for medical treatment," the statement said.

It added that two Coalition vehicles were also damaged and Afghan troops have secured the scene.

Meanwhile, the purported Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahed claimed responsibility for both attacks.

Around 70,000 foreign troops have been deployed in Afghanistan for keeping peace and helping with reconstruction since the fall of extreme Taliban regime.

Spiraling conflicts and Taliban-linked insurgency have claimed over 5,000 people's live with around 260 foreign troops so far this year in the country.
