BAGHDAD, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. marine was killed by a roadside bomb attack in Iraq's western province of Anbar, the U.S. military said on Saturday.
The marine died on Friday as a result of wounds received when a roadside bomb attack struck his vehicle earlier in the day, the military said in a statement.
The name of the deceased soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
About 4,198 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
