BRASILIA, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian police have detained nine people suspected of robberies and murders, police said Thursday.
The gang of bandits is accused of having robbed more than 50 traders and businessmen and killing four of them in the past three months.
The gang, made up of three adults and six teenagers, was detained in the beach of Mongagua in Sao Paulo, southeast of Brazil.
Police first detained one of the teenagers Wednesday. The young suspect confessed to taking part in attacks against the traders and revealed the gang's hideout, following which police arrested the rest of its members.
The police had earlier received anonymous tip-offs about the gang from people who had seen news of the attacks on TV.
