KABUL, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces, supported by the U.S.-led
Coalition forces detained four suspected insurgents during operations in eastern
Afghanistan while the joint forces have killed one militant and detained two
more insurgents in the west, said a Coalition statement released here on Friday.
"Afghan and Coalition forces detained four suspected insurgents during
operations targeting the Haqqani and Taliban improvised explosive device (IED)
and foreign fighter networks in Khost and Ghazni provinces of eastern
Afghanistan on Thursday, "the statement said.
In another operation in Herat province in west, Afghan National Security
Forces (ANSF), assisted by Coalition forces, detained two insurgents and killed
one in Zer-e-koh Valley of Shindand Districton Tuesday, it said.
ANSF conducted a raid on the safe house of Taliban Commander Nangali Khan

insurgents have vowed to intensify assaults against the interests of the Afghan
government and international troops before the coming winter.
