    WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is expected to receive on Thursday his first top-secret presidential intelligence briefing, CNN reported Wednesday.

    A team of intelligence briefers has been named and is ready to discuss with Obama the Presidential Daily Brief, or the PDB.

    In a message to CIA employees, CIA Director Michael Hayden said Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Michael McConnell will lead the first briefing.

    McConnell said recently that weapons proliferation, demographics, competition for natural resources and climate change may increase potential conflict in the coming years.

    President George W. Bush receives intelligence briefing each morning, six days a week, on the most sensitive information affecting the security of the United States.

    The PDB is put together each night by a small group of senior analysts at the CIA, incorporating the most current information gathered from the 16 agencies which make up the intelligence community.

    U.S. Democratic candidate Obama won a landslide victory in the presidential election Tuesday, which will make him the 44th president of the United States and the first African-American in U.S. history to sit in the Oval Office.
