MOSCOW, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday that his country will maintain its policies in the Caucasus region.

    "We will not give up our role in the Caucasus. We will overcome the global financial crisis and emerge from it stronger," Medvedev said in his first state of the nation address to the federal assembly.
