BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Nissan is to recall 431
vehicles in China to fix a sensor system that could affect the cars' passenger
side air-bag, China's quality supervisor said Tuesday.
Nissan (China) said the recall, which is to start on
Nov. 7, covered the 2007 model of Infiniti G35 Sedan (V36).
A recall notice filed to the General Administration
of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine explained that a sensor
located in the passenger seat cushion "may have been manufactured out of
specification." It could result in the passenger air-bag being suppressed and
fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash.
Nissan said no injuries or crashes were reported due
to the problem.
The company would provide free inspection and
maintenance, and if necessary, replace the seat cushion "with a new one
manufactured to specification" free of charge.
