SINGAPORE, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Singapore Airlines and its regional wing Silk air said Tuesday that they will reduce their fuel surcharges for travelers in business and economy class, across all routes, for tickets issued on or after Friday.

    It is the second time since September that the carriers have reduced fuel surcharges, in line with the recent sustained fall in the price of jet fuel, said both SIA and Silk air in statements.

    The cuts ranged from 4 U.S. dollars to 15 U.S. dollars.

    Surcharges for SIA and Silk air flights between Singapore and cities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will be cut from 36 U.S. dollars to 32 U.S. dollars in business class, and to 28 U.S. dollars in economy class.

    Surcharge on SIA flights to cities in Europe and South Africa will fall to 105 U.S. dollars in business class and 95 U.S. dollars in economy class separately from 110 U.S. dollars, while to cities in North America will cut 5 U.S. dollars and 10 U.S. dollars separately from 180 U.S. dollars.

    Flight services on SIA and Silk air from Singapore to other cities will decrease from 1000 U.S. dollars to 90 U.S. dollars in business class and 85 U.S. dollars in economy class.
