KATHMANDU, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Victims of Saptakoshi floods living in relief camps in Saptari district, some 190 km southeast of Nepali capital Kathmandu, are passing sleepless nights without warm clothes during the winter, Nepali National News Agency RSS reported on Tuesday.

    The winter season has already hit its early session in Nepal and the victims are yet to get warm clothes. The victims said they pass the nights by camp firing. Children and elderly have been facing health problems like diarrhea, pneumonia, common cold and fever due to cold.

    They said dew gets deposited inside their tents as the tents being used are of low quality.

    RSS quoted Saptari Central District Officer Ram Bilas Raya as saying that life of the flood victims is difficult due to the lack of warm clothes.

    Over 50,000 flood victims are surviving in Bhardaha relief camps. Around 10 Village Development Committees (VDCs) were in full or partial inundation in Sunsari and Saptari districts of southeastern Nepal, after the embankment of the Saptakoshi River suddenly broke on Aug. 18.
