APEC financial ministers gather in Peru to discuss economic crisis

     LIMA, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Vice financial ministers and high level officials from 21 economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gathered in Trujillo, Peru Monday to discuss economic issues.

    Peruvian Vice Finance Minister Eduardo Moron inaugurated the meeting, the preparation work for the 15th APEC Ministers Meeting to be held in Lima on Nov. 21 and 22.

    "We will exchange opinions and information on macroeconomic issues, including the national and regional political priorities as it is the international financial crisis," Moron said.

    Javier Kapsoli, an official in charge of the meeting said the strategic aims of the meeting is to draw out sound and credible financial policies, to reach equal and universal sustainable development, to secure the macroeconomic stability and to develop prudent public finance management.
