KATHMANDU, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman
Subash Nemwang on Sunday said that the constitution drafting process has been
delayed due to inter-party differences.
Addressing a press meeting organized by Press Chautari in Nawalparasi
district, some 160 km southwest of Nepali capital Kathmandu, Nemwang expressed
his hope that the new constitution would be drafted on time, despite the
political hurdles, Nepali National News Agency RSS reported.
He informed that CA regulations will be passed soon. According to him, the
legislative regulation also is in its final stage of preparation.
Nemwang further said that the CA has two main responsibilities, making a
new constitution on time and making the government transparent and accountable
to the people.
However, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday addressed
special meeting of CA and urged government as well as political parties to draft
new constitution at stipulate time.
