Special Report: Global Financial Crisis
SINGAPORE, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Saturday that his government's most urgent concern next year is to maintain progress amid the uncertain economic conditions.
According to Channel NewsAsia reports, Lee made the remarks during a dialogue session with Singapore youths on Saturday.
The premier also said that his government is looking at what can be done to help workers keep their jobs, equip the workforce with skills, help businesses keep costs down and also help households cope with rising energy bills.
In the medium term, the challenge is in growing the population and ensuring talent remains in the city state, Lee said, adding that in the long term, the top priority for his government is in leadership renewal.
