Special report: Palestine-Israel Relations
JERUSALEM, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Thursday ordered to close goods crossings between Israel and the Gaza Strip in response to a Qassam rocket attack into Israel, according to a military spokesperson.
Kerem Shalom crossing, the Nahal Oz fuel terminal and the Karni goods crossing will be temporarily shut down, the spokesperson from the Israel Defense Forces told Xinhua.
A Qassam rocket hit an open area in Israel's western Negev, causing no casualties or property damage, which was the latest violation of an Israel-Hamas truce in Gaza.
Hezbollah Palestine, a little-known group, claimed responsibility for the attack.
The number of rockets that fired into Israeli territory declined sharply since the Egypt-brokered cease-fire agreement went into effect on June 19.
