BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Chicago police on
Wednesday found a handgun just a block from the spot where Oscar-winning actress Jennifer
Hudson's 7-year-old nephew Julian King was shot to death, media reports said.
The gun matches the caliber of the weapon used in the
murders of Hudson's three family members, who also include Darnell Donerson, 57
and Jason Hudson, 29.
The weapon was being tested to compare with
ballistics taken from where Hudson's family members were slain, police said.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the gun and other
as-yet-undisclosed evidence was discovered by a police recruit, who was
conducting a routine search in connection with the investigation, at 1:30 p.m.
in an empty trash-strewn lot on 14th Street between Kildare and Kolin Avenues on
the city's West Side.
Also, at least one witness claims to have seen
someone driving a vehicle matching the white Suburban through the alley toss
something from the window, a source said.
Julian King's body was discovered Monday morning,
slumped in the back seat of a Chevy Suburban.
Julian, who had been shot twice in the head, had been
missing since Friday, when Jason Hudson and Donerson were found shot to death in
the family's home.
