Laos sets to boost trade with Vietnam

    HANOI, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Laos has set a target of boosting two-way trade with Vietnam to 1 billion U.S. dollars by 2010, Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday, citing source with the Laos' Foreign Trade Policy Department.

    According to statistics by Laos' Ministry of Industry and Commerce, trade value between Vietnam and Laos reached 99 million U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year.

    Laos exports mainly wood products, pharmaceutical materials, metal, chemical, coal and garments to Vietnam while it imports from Vietnam garments, electric equipment, seafood and other consumer products.
