Chinese president: Asia-Europe cooperation best option for win-win progress

    BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday described Asia-Europe cooperation as the best option of the two continents for win-win progress under the current circumstances.

    "As economic globalization is gaining momentum, the future of Asia and Europe has been increasingly tied to the future of the whole world, and cooperation between Asia and Europe for win-win progress is our best option," Hu said when addressing the opening ceremony of the Seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Chinese president hails ASEM's marked achievements

    BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday hailed the marked achievements of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) since its first meeting in 1996, saying it had become an important platform for Asia-Europe dialogue and cooperation.

    BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's sound economic growth is in itself a major contribution to global financial stability and economic growth, Chinese President Hu Jintao said here on Friday, referring to the global financial crisis that has shocked the world financial markets.

    BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday called on countries all over the world to strengthen policy coordination so as to cope with the global financial crisis.
