WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Athletics coach Trevor Graham who was disgraced for doping scandals Tuesday was sentenced to one year of home confinement for lying to federal sports doping investigators.

Graham was involved in a doping scandal which eventually took down his former famous proteges Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery and several other elite athletes.

Former elite American cyclist Tammy Thomas received a similar sentence of six months of home detention for lying to a grand jury about her steroid use.

Baseball star Barry Bonds is slated to stand trial in March on similar charges.
