New Zealand's National party still leads Labor in polls

    WELLINGTON, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand's opposition National party still leads Labor party by 18 points in the latest One News Colmar Brunton opinion poll released on Sunday night.

    National's popularity has dropped by one point, but Labor has not moved in the past week.

    The poll of 1000 people puts National at 51 percent and Labor on 33 percent.

    The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.

    The Roy Morgan poll released on Friday had National on 40.5 percent and Labor on 37.5 percent. A TV3 poll on Friday night had National on 45 percent and Labor on 39 percent.

    New Zealand is to hold general election on Nov. 8.
