5.1 magnitude earthquake shakes Indonesia

    JAKARTA, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit Fakfak in Indonesia's West Papua Province on Monday, but there was no immediate report of casualties or material damage, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said.

    The quake struck at 8:34 a.m. west Indonesia time (0134 GMT), with the epicenter located at 3.98 degrees southern latitude and 131.65 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 20 km below see level, said the agency.
