KIEV, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's economy and public finances won't be hit by the global financial crisis, the country's Prime Minister Julia Tymoshenko said on Friday.

"Everything points to the fact that Ukraine's economy and finances are stable. I can say positively that the world financial crisis won't come to Ukraine," Tymoshenko said in an interview with reporters.

Tymoshenko also said Ukraine had curbed inflation and the national budget for 2008 was executed without deficit.

Moreover, the National Bank of Ukraine had boosted its currency reserves by 4 billion U.S. dollars over the past few months, she added.

"Unlike most countries, which have had to revise downward their GDP growth forecasts due to the world financial crisis, Ukraine improved its GDP growth from 6.3 percent to 7.1 percent," Tymoshenko said.
