PARIS, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Beijing has succeeded in hosting the 2008 Paralympic Games, which together with last month's Olympic Games in the Chinese capital, have become a model for their successors, French media reported Wednesday.

France 3, the second largest French public television channel, said in an article posted on its website that the summer of 2008 belongs to China.

China has promised "Two Games with Equal Splendour" and facts have proved that the country did present two splendid sports events to the world, said the article.

It said China should be delighted with the organization work of the Paralympics as everything went smoothly.

During the Games, huge crowds turned out to watch about 4,000 athletes from around the world compete in an atmosphere of fair play, the article said.

AFP also conducted a detailed coverage of the closing ceremony of the Paralympics, saying it was full of poetic sentiment.

"These are the greatest Paralympic Games ever," International Paralympic Committee President Philip Craven was quoted as saying as he declared the Games closed.
