LIMA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The first batch of 60 U.S. citizens evacuated from Bolivia arrived in the Peruvian capital Wednesday as Washington advised all Americans to leave the Central American country if they can amid its political chaos.

    After their arrival, they boarded a vehicle under tight security and were taken away.

    About 40 additional U.S. citizens were expected to arrive in Peru in the coming hours.

    The conflict in Bolivia between supporters of President Evo Morales and anti-government protesters has intensified since last week.

    It has left dozens of people dead in the country which is divided over Morales's social and economic reform policies. Five governors, rejecting Morales's reform campaign, are pushing for autonomy.
