MOSCOW, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Vladislav Surkov, first Deputy Chief of Staff
of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia, Friday met with Wang Jiarui, a
senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), to discuss bilateral
ties.
Surkov spoke highly of the Russia-China ties and welcomed the exchange
between parties of the two countries.
The exchange is an important component of bilateral relations of the two
countries, and enriches the content of the Russia-China strategic partnership,
he said, adding that the two sides should further the exchange and cooperation
between parties.
Surkov also congratulated China on its remarkable achievements in recent
years and the success of the Beijing Olympics.
Wang, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee,
said both the CPC and the Chinese government attach great importance to the
Sino-Russian strategic partnership, and hope to make concerted efforts with the
Russian side to promote bilateral cooperation.
The CPC will enhance its cooperation with major Russian parties, in a bid
to boost the development of bilateral ties, which is beneficial to the peoples
of the two countries, Wang said.
Wang, head of a CPC delegation, arrived here Wednesday for a visit at the
invitation of the United Russia party.
