BEIJING, Sept. 12 -- Jessica Alba has appeared
in a raunchy bondage-themed advertising campaign in an attempt to encourage
young people to vote.
The Sin City actress stars in the dramatic
photographic campaign for voter group Declare Yourself - which encourages young
people to register to vote in the upcoming US Presidential election - and is
seen topless, with black tape across her mouth and chest and heavy eye make-up.
The pictures include the tag 'Only You Can Silence
Yourself', and Jessica, 27, claims they "really resonate" with the issue of
voter registration.
She said: "If you don't register and vote and make a
difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our
country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself.
"We sign up for MySpace pages and Facebook pages, and
download music off the internet. The least people can do is register to vote
online, actually making a difference in their world, not just making their lives
a little bit cooler."
Photographer Marc Liddel shot the campaign, and
despite the racy nature of the pictures Jessica insists she was not embarrassed.
She said: "It didn't freak me out at all. What I like
about Marc's work is that he tells a story and brings real emotion to his
pictures."
The actress has also spoken about her three-month-old
baby Honor, her first child with husband Cash Warren, insisting being a parent
is the most fulfilling thing she has experienced.
She said: "So far motherhood is the best thing ever.
It is exhausting but way more fulfilling than anything I have done. Everything I
do now is so much more meaningful because of her."
Other stars posing in the campaign include Andre 3000
and Christina Aguilera
