LIMA, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori's daughter Keiko Fujimori on Monday denied reports that her father has got pancreatic cancer.

Alberto Fujimori has a pancreatic cyst, but it is an inoffensive type, said Keiko, a legislator.

But doctors at the National Neoplastic Diseases Institute (INEN) diagnosed Fujimori with a "severe erosive gastritis," she added.

Keiko said the doctors recommended a permanent observation and the possibility of performing a puncture on the cyst.

Fujimori was hospitalized at the INEN on Aug. 5 to have tests including a CT scan and an endosonographic evaluation.

Due to the diagnosed gastritis, Keiko requested the Hall of Justice, which is prosecuting Fujimori for crimes against humankind, to reduce the duration of his attendance at hearings, which last eight hours every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

"We are not requesting any type of changes to the prison system or to the regimen system. He (Fujimori) will keep on attending the judicial sessions, but I do think these are quite intense," Keiko said.
