JOHANNESBURG, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba Monday met with a delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), hailing bilateral military ties.
Pohamba said bilateral military relations have served as an important part of Namibia-China friendly ties, according to news reports from the Namibian capital Windhoek.
The president spoke highly of the Beijing Summer Olympics, saying it was very successful and no other host country in history had organized the Games as excellently as China.
Gen. Fan Changlong, head of the delegation, said China and Namibia have enjoyed a longtime friendship in military field, and the military ties, as a part of bilateral relations, have progressed smoothly.
Fan, commander of the Chinese Jinan Military Area Command, said China appreciates Namibia's consistent adherence to one-China policy, and its support to China's reunification.
The Chinese delegation is on a visit from Sept. 7 to 10.
