SOFIA, Sep. 8 (Xinhua) -- Five people were injured in two bomb attacks on two bars in the downtown of Bulgaria's capital Sofia late Sunday night, local press reported Monday.
The first bomb explosion occurred at about 11:20 p.m. local time (GMT 0920) at the "Pantera" bar, located on the corner of the Zdrave Street and the Milosurdie Street, which runs parallel to the Bulgaria Blvd, the boulevard and key thoroughfare connecting the center of Sofia.
The bomb was allegedly placed in front of the front door of the bar. Borislav Nikolov, the 36-year-old manager of the bar, got hisfeet severely injured in the explosion, witnesses said.
Another explosion occurred some ten minutes later, at about 11:30 p.m. local time (GMT 0930) at the "Casablanca" bar, which is located on the Urvich Street in the Hipodruma Quarter.
Two men seriously injured in the second blast were identified as Mustafa Yumer Emirov, 30, and Emil Krasimirov, 53.
All of the three injured are now in the hospital of the Military Medical Academy.
Morever, two women, one of whom pregnant, got light injuries by broken glass in the explosions.
Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Pavlin Dimitrov, and Director of the Sofia Police Nikolay Yanev arrived at the explosion sites shortly after police cars and ambulances reached there.
The police are currently investigating motives for the two explosions, which were thought probably to be revenge or attempts to eliminate competition.
