BRASILIA, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian media on Saturday lavished praise for the spectacular opening ceremony of the Beijing Paralympic Games.

SporTV, Brazil's National sports TV network, ran a live broadcast of the ceremony. During the show, the presenter repeatedly used "moving" to describe the performances, mostly by handicapped artists.

Brazil's portal website G1 said the show was filled with touching atmosphere. China has once again presented to the world an amazing pageant, it said.

In an article entitled "A Tribute to Life", the official Agencia Brasil news agency said the opening ceremony, with its theme of "Heaven, Earth and Human," raised world's attention to the value of lives.

UOL, another portal website, said Saturday's performances were just as grandiose and marvellous as the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics a month ago.
