       BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The cauldron of the Beijing Paralympic Games was lit by Hou Bin, China's triple Paralympic high jump champion, in the National Stadium in north Beijing on Saturday night.

Paralympic opening ceremony unfolds touching journey into world of disabled community

  
        BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- An around-50-minute art performance of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Paralympic Games unfolded a touching journey into the world of the disabled community Saturday night at the National Stadium in north Beijing.

       BEIJING, Sept.  6 (Xinhua) -- Ping Yali, China's first ever Paralympic gold medalist, is among seven disabled athletes who will take part in the torch relay Saturday night at the opening ceremony of Beijing Paralympics, organizers said.

       BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Paralympic Games has hit the headlines of the international media in the past few days, with all expecting another success following the Summer Olympics in the Chinese capital.

        Germany's DPA news agency said Friday that China has made great efforts in preparing the Sept. 6-17 Paralympics, as it did for the Aug. 8-24 Games, which won the country lots of praise.  Full Story>>>

   BEIJING, Sept.  5 (Xinhua) -- A full dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Paralympics was held at the Bird's Nest National Stadium on Thursday evening.
