GAZA, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- A leader from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on Monday accused some members of Hamas and president Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah of hindering efforts to launch an inter-Palestinian dialogue.
"Specific sides in Hamas and Fatah obstruct the national dialogue that all the Palestinian people hope to see happening," said Rabah Muhana in a statement emailed to the press.
Muhana is currently in Egypt where his movement is holding talks with the Egyptian officials about the ways to resume the talks to end the Palestinian political split.
The split took form between the West Bank and Gaza Strip last year when Hamas routed pro-Abbas forces and took over control of the Gaza Strip. In return, Abbas consolidated his power in West Bank.
Egypt holds separate talks with the factions to get their views on how to resume the dialogue. According to reports, representatives of Hamas and Fatah will be the last factions to arrive in Cairo before the dialogue is launched.
Muhana said he hopes that Egypt succeeds to launch the dialogue to reunite the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
