CARACAS, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Venezuelan parliament lauded the 2008
Beijing Olympics in a recent resolution.
The National Assembly resolution said the Beijing Olympics, held from Aug.
8 to 24, was a combination of high-tech, perfect organization and humanity, and
had provided a stage to showcase the most lofty emotions and mutual cooperation
among the people of the world.
The resolution spoke highly of China's rich culture and the efficiency of
its socialist system, which enabled it to host a sports event on such a grand
scale.
The resolution also noted that Venezuela had sent a 109-member delegation
to the Beijing Olympics, the largest in the history of the South American
nation.
