BEIJING, Aug. 21 -- The Qingdao Paralympic village is
ready now to provide accommodation for athletes and officials attending next
week's Paralympic Games.
Transformation work at the village has been finished,
focusing on the needs of disabled people. The co-host city for the sailing
events fine-tuned the facilities to provide integrated services for the
disabled.
Organizers have installed special lanes for the blind
and obstacle-free ramps for wheelchairs. Advance members from America and
Hungary have already checked in.
The village will officially open on August 30th, and
close on September 20th.

BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The athletes' village for the Beijing Paralympics opened on Sunday.
The village, which was transformed from the Olympic Village, will be home to more than 7,000 athletes and officials from 148 countries and regions during the Sept. 6-17 Games. Full story
