KATHMANDU, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, known as Prachanda, said Friday the small parties would be incorporated into the government to give the cabinet "a final shape".
Prachanda, also the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) expected that the fringe parties will join the cabinet by Saturday after the remaining five CPN-M ministers are selected and the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) joins the government on Friday as expected.
Meanwhile, the central secretariat meeting of CPN-M is in progress at the Prime Minister's official residence in capital Kathmandu on Friday, local leading news website Nepalnews.com reported.
The meeting is expected to choose the five remaining CPN-M ministers and also decide on whom to entrust the party's leadership since Chairman Prachanda has become the Prime Minister.
Most CPN-M leaders are said to be in favor of appointing senior party leader Mohan Baidya "Kiran" as the new chairman of the party.
The CPN-UML, a major coalition partner, decided to join the government led by CPN-M after assured with the second position in the cabinet.
The six CPN-UML ministers were expected to be sworn in on Friday.
The CPN-UML has decided to send Bishnu Paudel for Ministry of Water Resources portfolio, Kiran Gurung for Forest and Soil Conservation, Gopal Shakya in Youth and Sports, Ram Chandra Jha inLocal Development and Asta Laxmi Shakya in Industry and Commerce, besides Bamdev Gautam to head Home Ministry.
The cabinet of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal was formed last Friday. Among the eight ministers sworn in, four are from CPN-M, while the other four are from the fourth largest CA party, the Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF).
On Aug. 15, the CPN-UML and MPRF, together with most of the other minor CA parties, jointly voted Prachanda for the post of prime minister.
