JAKARTA, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- At least four million children in Indonesia
currently suffer from malnutrition and invisible hunger, an official of the
World Food Program (WFP) said here on Friday.
All parties, especially businessmen, should donate funds to WFP for
implementation of concrete programs to feed malnourished and hungry children,
WFP's Deputy Representative in Indonesia Bradley Busseto said.
"We hope that in the coming years, we can reduce the number of children who
suffer from malnutrition in this country," he said when launching a fund raising
program called World Hunger Relief Program organized by Pizza Hut Indonesia.
During last year's Ramadhan (fasting month), Pizza Hut managed to collect
funds amounting to 1.677 billion rupiah (one U.S. dollar equals 9200 rupiah) for
WFP.
Director of Pizza Hut Indonesia Budi Setiawan hoped that during this year's
Ramadhan, his restaurants would be able to collect more funds for
WFP.
